How many Homeless People do you suppose would enjoy hearing that phrase???  How many times have we Home-have People said that to a Home-don't-have Person / at any time / at any place / for any reason???

HatsForHomeless
I realize it's not feasible for most of us to provide living arrangements for others.  However, I do believe we can help ease their discomforts - even if only in what we consider to be a very small way.

You can Help a Home-doesn't-have Person keep a little Warmer through the Cold Winter months by Donating  a nice Warm Hat. Or Sending a Hat that you've made.  Or a pair of Gloves, or a Scarf.  You can contact me through the
Feedback Page, or
By E-Mail.

"The major reasons and causes for homelessness...
as documented by many reports and studies include:

Lack of affordable housing
Substance abuse and lack of needed services
Mental illness and lack of needed services
Domestic violence
Poverty, caused by many factors
Prison release and re-entry into society
Lack of affordable healthcare
Natural disaster

Homelessness is "...the condition and societal category of people who lack housing and food, usually because they cannot afford, or are otherwise unable to maintain, regular, safe, and adequate shelter. The term "homelessness" may also include people whose primary nighttime residence is in a homeless shelter, in an institution that provides a temporary residence for individuals intended to be institutionalized, or in a public or private place not designed for use as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings."                    - from Wikipedia

Thank you, Everyone.Bringing in the hats.
So much from so many - we are a great Nation.  You've all been so helpful with this project. I will keep making hats with yarn you've sent. If you send hats or gloves or scarves, I'll continue to get them to the homeless shelter.  I just had to say how much you've all touched my heart. Thank you and God bless you.

Crochet For Homeless.org
The new website is up and running.  I'm finding links to Crochet Patterns for Hats, Scarves, Neck Warmers, Gloves, Mittens, and Fingerless Gloves.  This will probably always be a Work-In-Progress because new patterns are popping up nearly every day.  I'll be posting a couple of My Favorite Patterns as well as links to some great Yarn Shops.  E-mail photos of your Crocheted Donations and I'll put them in the Projects Photos along with your name (unless you tell me to omit your name) and the state you live in.  Click www.CrochetForHomeless.org to see the new site.

See my "
Squidoo " lens for more on our excursions to the Tulsa Day Center For The Homeless  and the people who have given so much of their time to this project.
